How to find the right replacement window company?
With all the window companies in Fort Worth offering so many different windows, how does a homeowner know how to make the right choice for replacement windows? If you Google “replacement window companies Fort Worth” or “home window companies Fort Worth” there are so many to choose from. The first thing is to recognize that Google is not perfect, and they pull up a lot of Auto Glass Companies, so you can immediately eliminate them. The next step to weeding out some of the competition is to eliminate the lead generation sites like Home Advisors, Thumbtack, etc. The sell leads to local window companies and you can get inundated with calls from window companies. Look for the local companies and look at their reviews. If they don’t have very many window reviews are they have less than 4-stars, you might take them off your list. Then look at the websites of the window replacement companies you have left.
Things to think about:
- Do they offer more than one series of window? Do you need a highly efficient triple pane window or is budget tight and you need a less expensive but still quality window? One size does not fit all and if the window company on offers one type of window, it might not be the one for your home.
- What color is going to match your home the best and keep you in budget. Standard colors on vinyl windows are white, tan and clay. If you need a bronze, blue or black color then you need to find the company that offers beyond the standard colors.
- Do you need double-hung tilt windows for ease of cleaning? Maybe not! If you have large windows, then tilting them in will not be that easy. If you have drapes or shutters it may be impossible. However, if you have a 2-story house then maybe it would be nice to have double-hung windows upstairs and single-hung downstairs.
- Do you want grids in the windows (those bars that make little boxes)? If so, do you want grids in between the glass so they are easy to clean or bars on the outside of the glass for the more dramatic look?
