There are many things to consider before choosing a new window. Do you go for double glazing, single pane, or would triple-pane be best for your home? Then there’s the type of window to consider and the frame material. If you’re looking to save on your energy bills, you may like to choose energy efficient windows.

If you live in Dallas, TX, and are searching for a company to install energy efficient windows, you may like to contact Energy Window Solutions or your local window installation contractor. They will be able to talk you through what types of windows are available and which would be best for your home. In the meantime, read on. We’ve just interviewed Mark, a window installation expert, about his job. He’s also answered some of the most common questions people have about these windows.

Interviewer: Hello, Mark, it’s great to speak with you today. Can you briefly tell us what your job involves?

Mark: I work as a window installer and am involved in the whole process, from taking measurements and advising customers on which windows would be best right through to installing the windows. I’m also involved in the manufacture, the job is quite varied, and every day is slightly different.

Interviewer: Sounds like you enjoy your work. What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Mark: Working with customers, I love helping people to make their house look great and to reduce their energy bills. I also like seeing the finished product and the improvements that having new windows installed can make to a home.

Interviewer: Our readers are likely wondering what the benefits of energy efficient windows are. Can you give us a brief rundown?

Mark: of course! The main reason that most homeowners are interested in energy efficient windows is that they want to save money on their energy bills. Investing in new windows can help to keep in the heat during winter, making your home warmer. This means you’ll use less energy when heating your home.

Energy-efficient windows not only keep in the heat, but they can also keep out the sun’s ray during the summer, which means you’ll be running your air conditioning system less. Overall energy efficient windows make your home more comfortable.

There are also a few other benefits of these windows; they can help to reduce mold, as condensation is reduced. Our windows are also long-lasting and don’t need regular maintenance; they are more environmentally friendly than standard windows.

Interviewer: Sounds great! You mentioned being more environmentally friendly. Are more people opting for energy-efficient windows?

Mark: In recent years, we’ve seen the interest in energy-efficient windows grow. More and more homeowners are becoming aware of their environmental footprint and want to do what they can to help reduce their energy consumption. Obviously, people are also interested in saving more, and that’s a big draw of energy-efficient windows; over time, they will allow you to save money on your utility bills.

Investing in energy-efficient windows will mean that you don’t need to be running your HVAC system as often. This means you’re using less power and creating less pollution. All while saving yourself some money at the same time.

If you plan to create an eco-friendly home, one of the best decisions you can make is investing in new energy-efficient windows.

Interviewer: Thanks, that’s all great information. You mentioned the word ‘invest’ a couple of times. Is it expensive to install energy-efficient windows, and will homeowners really reduce their bills and save money?

Mark: That’s something people always want to know. You can save money on your bills by having new windows installed. Obviously, there is quite a large initial financial outlay, but over time new windows can pay for themselves.

Bear in mind that if your new windows last for between fifteen and twenty years, the money you save on your bills will have paid for the new windows.

Interviewer: Sounds like it’s worth making that initial investment.

Mark: Absolutely!

Interviewer: Will new windows add value to a property?

Mark: Yes, definitely! If you do decide to sell your home in the future, it’s likely you’ll have buyers interested if your house is in good condition. Having energy-efficient windows can make your property more appealing. I don’t know that much about the property market, but homes that are well insulated and maintained and that also have lower energy bills are likely to sell faster.

Interviewer: Can you tell us about the different frame materials available?

Mark: Window frames are generally made from wood, metal, vinyl, or PVC. Metal frames aren’t the best idea as they will lose a lot of heat. They may be ok in a hot climate, though. Modern windows are generally made from vinyl or PVC, and these are long-lasting and hardwearing. Some homeowners prefer the look of wood, but you should be aware that wooden window frames need regular maintenance and should be painted regularly to keep them in good condition.

Interviewer: When is the best time for Window Replacement?

Mark: New windows can be installed year-round. The best time to have new windows installed would probably be in the spring or early summer. In the spring, the temperatures are just right to have new windows installed. But I may be best; I love working in the spring when the weather is better, not too hot, and less chance of rain than in winter.

There are also benefits to having new windows installed in the spring, before the heat of the summer sets in. New windows will help you to reduce the cost of your air conditioning bills during the summer. You’ll also benefit the following winter by choosing energy-efficient windows, which will lower heating costs.

Interviewer: Thanks Mark, it’s been great talking to you today!
